Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Question for moderators: Are warnings permitted?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I recently had a very bad experience purchasing a bike from a well known on line retailer. I would like to write about my experience in order to provide a warning to other forum members. Is this permitted, and if so, what guidelines or rules do I follow? I have no intention of "flaming" or using inflammatory language, just want to lay out the facts.

Thanks.

Why don't you write about your experience but leave out the name of the shop. If people want to know more about it, they can PM you privately for more info.

But remember that others may disagree with you. Often, when someone starts a thread complaining about an online retailer, others will say that the complaint is not fair. So, you may actually make the retailer look better.

Before posting, ask yourself if you gave the company a chance to make it right. The big ones generally will make things right, but sometimes they require a little pushing.

If you want to vent - go ahead.

Always do it and ask for forgiveness later since you might not get permission in advance ;)
