I always lock my bike on a rack at the terminal and then take the train to work. Upon arriving to pick up my bike I noticed several other cycles were stolen or missing rear wheels.
Folks. These were old and rusted junk bikes. How in the world can anyone take the time to steal a rusted rear wheel off an old lady Schwinn cruiser? It's just amazing what people will steal today and it really says alot about society in general.
I also noticed several cheap U-Locks that were cut and tossed on the floor from other stolen bikes. My best advice for those using U-Locks is to NOT buy anything less than Evolution 3000 by Kryptonite. If you can afford it, buy the New York 3000 even though it weighs almost 4 pounds.
My bike was right next to the one that was stolen yet mine was spared because I use the New York Chain and wrap it around the rear wheel and the frame.
It's a very sad day when you thing about the fact that you can't even park a junk shopper bike without someone trying to steal it.
