Hi Overgawa-san, I was in Chiba in Dec last year and couldn't help but miss my bike to get around the city. Could you tell me what are the restrictions and regulations regarding folding bikes on the JR trains? I really love Ueno and the Kappabashi area. Having taken the Uchibo line to Hama-Kanaya, I realised how nice it would be if we could cycle around the Nokogiri area. Please advise on how I can move around without getting trouble with the local laws. I'll be visiting Osaka in June and Hokkaido in Dec so we really wish to have our bikes with us.

You shouldn't have a problem, I take my Brompton on the trains here all the time. You just need to have it folded and in a bag or cover of some type.
