Didn't make it to the end of the broadcast last night but we hit the record button before going to bed. So glad we did, that was a really interesting stage.(managed to avoid seeing any news about TdF this morning until after we'd watched the tape)
Mr Matagi was getting a little annoyed at the cameramen, who seem to focus on the bikes and the running gear only long enough to get your attention before quickly swinging up to focus on something exciting like the rider's left nostril.

Jasus, so this is what Nev feels like huh? All I need to do now is suck some hot chicks neck and draw blood and the transformation will be complete.
I'm not completely sold on Cadel. Is that a stoning offence? Sure, he says all these things, but he doesn't strike me as that tactical in nature, especially in interviews he seems a bit vague. Of course it could all be a ploy by the team, but I'm not getting the 'I'm strong, I'm bideing my time' vibe from him. He looked better today than he did yesterday I will profess that much.
All of which of course means THIS IS THE BEST TOUR EVA!
(Well, except maybe for 1989 when I watched Lemond beat Fignon by 9 seconds on his fluoro yellow bike with funny handlebars. Not as funny as Floyds of course!)
---
Goddamn, have you seen the 2007 Campy stuff? I've always ridden Shimano but the next roadie I get will have this stuff on it fersure. Full pix are on cyclingnews now.

i think in some way not having a team to support you may be a slight adv psychologicly, as your doing it for yourself, not relying on the team to carry you with the overhanging fear that if you falter your going to let everyone down.

Dammit! I picked the wrong stage to decide at about 11.45pm that bed would be more comfortable than the couch.
But it was sweet sweet news to hear this morning that Landis had gone out the back door faster than a sweatshop worker in an immigration raid.
Not that i particularly dislike Floyd but i just really don't want to see a bluddy yank (coz I'm not allowed to say seppo) win the Tour again.
Good to see Cadel performed a bit better too.

I think Floyd's suitcase of courage got sent to the wrong destination
I watched last night till I couldn't keep my eyes open, then got up early to watch the last two hours on replay. I only missed the second berg.
Go the chook!

Last night i was flicking through the functions on my bike computer ( flight deck) and it came up with the gear ratios. anyhoo it told me i had a 50 on the front.... thinking this must surley be a mistake i looke don the chainring and sure enough... its a 50.
I thought 52 was the std large chain ring? is that by definition some type of compact crank? will a 52 fit on? its shimano 105....

50/34 or 50/36 is compact. What size is your small ring? There's a question you can only ask on bikeforums

I think 53/39 is the standard (or most commonly used) two ring combo these days. Compacts are as cuzzy vette says.

I'm thinking 50/36 up front and a straight block on the back might be the hot setup.
Anyone got any opinions on that?
