As for Vegemite, used to live off the stuff until I tried Marmite on a trip to NZ - now I've turned to the Dark Side and only eat Marmite (although never scooped straight from the jar )

about five or six years ago I had to go to Melbourne for a week for work. Took the bike and went out training with a group in the industrial area under Bolte Bridge and the Westgate fwy.. You reckon the Kraft factory does't farkin pong of vegemite from about 500m away.

The problem with vegemite is that it goes off so quickly. The missus would buy some from Woolies on the weekend, and when I'd open the jar midweek, it would be all brown and smell terrible. So I just chucked it in the bin.

Why people don't like a black, salty, yeasty paste that needs special prep to be edible (to my tastes at least - heat + butter absolutely necessary) i'll never know...

The funniest thing i've ever seen is an american exchange student trying vege - gave it to her my way on toast, and told her it was 'breakfast paste'. She loved it. Then she got the guts to 'try' vegemite, so i let her do it her way - half inch thick on a piece of bread. You can all imagine the face she pulled. Vomburp, followed by about three packets of tic tacs to get the taste of vege out of her mouth.

Why do people like a blackish sweet carbonated drink that tastes vaguely of fake lemon? (that's coke btw)

Never saw it, but Bayley should be able to beat him by 10 lengths. McEwen could probably ride low-mid 11's on a good day for a flying 200. Bayley can do low 10's. Even with crap form he can ride a 10.5 or 10.6.

why a brooks? they jsut look like as much of a nut cracker as any other ive used.

is ive lsot a fair bit of weight, is it possible that looser knicks are causing my probs? there still quite tight round the leg, but are looser in the waste. is there a brand anyone can recomend?

Dunno about the Brooks, that was a bit of a facetious comment. It is a pretty hard saddle (MrM has one) but it moulds itself to your sit bones, which is what makes it so comfortable.

However, you can't expect to leave your nuts resting on the saddle without issues, so maybe it is a knicks thing. If they are loose around the waist, then they'll be slipping down a bit and not providing the necessary "lift" to keep things out of harm's way. As far as brands go, I'm a bit of a Ground Effect pimp. They are made of slightly heavier lycra, so are less "stretchy" than some of the other brands, which might be what you need. So I guess you could go somewhere with a decent clothing range (Melbourne! /jk) and try a few pairs concentrating on the ones made of heavier fabric.

I have a Fizik arione on my road bike (only because it came with the bike) & find it to be okay.

I also got a Specialized saddle with a split in the middle (can't remember the model) for the MTB (coz it was the best that the only bike shop open that day in Echuca) that has been surprisingly comfortable.

Go get your arse measured in a shop that sells Specialized saddles with their gel doodad you sit on. That'll tell you how wide your sit bones are and then you can pick the right width saddle.

In the end though you'll have to work out whether a flat or curved profile saddle works best for you and pick something that fits the mould so to speak. It's all a bit trial and error getting a good saddle.

i had an arione and thats where the problems began. my fizik on my cannondale rush hurt me as well. i have a specialised on the MTB + road now.

i did a gel fitup as suggested. its comfortable, bar the nut issue.

im thinking its knicks, well hopin as at least thats an easyish fix.

the wierd this is i can look between my legs and the saddle and there is no contact point that i can see with my boys....wierd.

That's where you're wrong. Any guy will tell you that if you even think about brushing against them the wrong way, we'll cringe and possibly get the watery eye.
