A very interesting stage for the sprinters tonight i reckon. Those that are brave enough and strong enough to stay with the pack over the little climbs could reap mucho points.

They might have to contend with yet another good break tho coz the course invites riders to put the sprinters into the hurt box to stay in touch. Should be fun

The short version is that the Islamic religion was bourne from Judaisms a few hundred years back because Mohamed felt that Judaism wasn't 'strict' enough for him. His teachings went further and became a faith, in cases where fundamentalists not only honour their own religion but scourne others...especially Judaism.

The fact that Islam was bourne from Judaism means that Jerusalem is sacred to both religions. Now, Israel (full of Jews) owns Jerusalem and all Muslims hate them for this. The Muslim fundamentalists have therefor carried out a 'holy war' against Isreal for the last however many years (not sure how long), which has been fought by primarily suicide bombings. Israel in retaliation has created a 'safe zone' around them by a 'big ass' wall, and then has bombed, shot, destroyed ANYONE they suspected of planning, facilitating, assisting or in any other way participating in the bombings.

The USA has 'assisted' Isreal by supplying weaponry and intelligence. Also, Israel has reportedly lot's of nukes which apparently the US has assisted in supplying the materials. You might ask why the US assists and then doesn't stop Israel from bombing. As far as I can tell, it's for 2 reasons. Firstly, the US have their own war with Fundamentalist Muslims and they don't want to 'nobble' their key allie in this war. Secondly, the Jewish community in the USA is VERY powerful, both with politic and economic influence. No one in power is going to mess with the Jews!!!

With respect to the recent attacks...this is a demonstration of absolute power by Israel. Israel is almost surrounded by Islamic States and they are showing the whole Muslim world that they are prepared to fight the Muslim community if they have to AND they have the fire power.

I don't agree with the bombardments but I wonder what we might do if we were in their position??
Hey, didn't the Allies set up the state of Israel after WWII as some kind of 'Sorry for the Holocaust, here, have a country' type deal? That's always been my uneducated knowledge on the subject.

Like with most situations in foreign policy, I kinda like the irony of it all. Set up a state for the persecuted....so then they can then persecute the Palestinians in some weird 2000 year vendetta....and oh here, have our support while you do it.

I can't imagine what sort of a nightmare that sh¡thole must be like to live in. Kids throwing rocks at you daily....compulsory military service....penis disfigured in bizarre ritual....no wonder some Jews are so **** up.

With all this hullaballoo about 'Terrorism', how much funding from the USA has gone to the IRA and Mossad/Israel?

Man, I get busy for a few days, they move the freaking thread and there's 13 pages of rubbish that I don't have time to read through. Anything important I should know? Oh wait, this it TAT, it's all just random spew.

I can't help but notice that the Tour has been dropped in favor of political discussion. If I were to choose sides, I wouldn't be supporting the country that sends their children across the border with explosive belts under their pajamas, with orders to go blow up as many innocent civilians as possible. And if I were to be placing bets on which side was going to come out ahead (there's no winner in war) I wouldn't put my money on the country where they're throwing rocks at 20 foot tall tanks.

I wouldnt be supporting the side that kills civillians willy nilly either. Or blowing up as much infrastructure as possible. Or going through Palestine with the machine gun in 67. Or kicking out the christain armenians that have been in the holy lands for a very long time.

**** Israel, **** Palestine and the other rabble.
**** the Yanks for coming up with the military tatic that killing civilians is effective.

Just caught the TdF higlights on Foxtel - that crash was pretty ugly! Does Kessler get the trick cyclist award of the tour? The guy must be tough as, to get up and keep riding after that.

Anyone have any tips on how to stay awake long enough to see live broadcast? We've only managed to do that once in the last two weeks.

Pick the stages you want to watch, no point watching the boring ones across the medeterainian (you get the idea).
Do not lie down on the coach.
Do drink something, coffee or beer
Do leave the heater on.
Do turn the volume up.

matagi - tape the last hour, go to bed early, get up at 6am, watch the last hour, then go to work. Saves trying to stay awake until 2am every night.

We could start by fielding a team that knows hw to play the game, and wants to try to win. Bunch of pansies the current mob.

i think we can beat NZ - theres more psychological differences there than talent next workd cup will be a shocker though if they dont start blooding more new talent. NZ's idea of 2 seperate test teams is brilliant for that.

So did anything come of the seppogate issue? or do i now have to run around insisting that all the yanks( wouldnt that be offensive to like half the US population??) call me Australian and not Assie, esp not Assi, for full respect as they dont understand my cultural heratige?

Easy - work for yourself, stay up til 2am, start work at 10 the next morning. I'm only staying up for the good stages though. The flat stages I just assume Robbie will win.
