New cycling book to read...

Unleashed to the antipodean public today, 7th May, Llamas and Empanadas
is a personal account of a 5000 kilometre bike tour through South America. It's still fairly astounding to me that it's now available for sale, given that I never actually planned to write it. But after getting back from Argentina, Chile and Bolivia two years ago, fuelled by the intensity of my experiences there, I began typing and just couldn’t stop. Writing Llamas and Empanadas turned out to be equally as challenging and satisfying as the cycle-tour it describes. The one notable difference being that I got fatter rather than thinner along the way. Below is a link to the Penguin website where you can read a bit about it. http://www.penguin.co.nz/nf/Book/Boo...006404,00.html and you can order it here: http://www.dymocks.com.au/ProductDet...=9780143006404 And if you want to see more photos from the trip, go here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/eleanormeecham I hope you enjoy reading it, eleanor meecham x |
Thanks for posting. I will chase this up. Spent 4 months in S America backpacking and camping (encounter overland) some 20 years ago. Congratulations on the book
