Huntington Beach Bicycles

Anyone have any experience with this brand? I was at a small festival this weekend and they had a guy there with some that he customized. Rode one on grass for about two minutes and liked it. I need to get with him and take it out on the local rails to trails path here and see what it's like on asphalt. I'm seriously considering getting an Old Skool model sometime soon.
Men's Beach Cruiser, Old Skool Bicycle, Custom Cruisers for Men
Men's Beach Cruiser, Old Skool Special Edition Bicycle, Custom Cruisers for Men
Anyone have any thoughts on them? Thanks.

Just your standard Chinese import. Nothing wrong with that. I'd want to know which rear hub they use. A little pricey IMO.

From everything that I was told this weekend and from what I gather on their website, these are made in CA.

Look familiar? There are tons of "Beach Cruiser" websites selling the same imported Chinese products. This is from just up the road in Long Beach Ca.

https://www.beachcitybike.com/frames/

HBBC should be using the word "Assembled" in California, not "Manufactured." Slippery slope and all that.

Any suggestions to a less expensive alternative to the HBBC line? This style bike is new to me so I am not familiar with the different manufacturers. Looking to buy a complete cruise, not build one. Thanks.

From Born in the Back Alleys of Huntington Beach..
HBBC has been designing and manufacturing our custom designed beach cruisers under the SKULLXBONES™ mark since 2006. We have rapidly grown our SKULLXBONES™ brand through
I've seen the SkullXBones cruisers and they are made in China or Taiwan. I've also been in that block of HB and it isn't an industrial area. It's 3 blocks east of the pier. I ride to the Starbucks in the next block when I want to do an easy century.

I wasn't trying to steer you away from the HBBC bike. I was just offering my thoughts. Heck, the frame has a five year warranty and all the components are covered for a year. Call them and ask which coaster brake hub they use. If they use the Shimano CB-E110, I would probably go for it.

These are comparable and about $50 retail less. Phat Cycles - Beach Cruisers: Phundamental Bicycles - Sea Wind Mens I have one and it's OK; not as nice as an Electra, Giant or Schwinn. I use it to walk my dog. And the company is in HB.

Me I would quit worrying about the style and price and ride different bikes until I fould the one that is the most comfortable for me. If it is nice looking you still will not ride the bike if it hurts to do so. Roger

I'm not worrying about the price. As far as style, I am looking for something that allows me to sit more upright. Only reason why I asked about a less expensive alternative to the HBBC bike is that someone commented about it being overpriced for what it is.

Nothing really special about their bicycles except the marketing. If they're manufacturing bicycles in Huntington Beach I'd like to know where they do it. Their shop is at Main St and ORange Ave about three blocks inland from the H.B. Pier, and its a retail shop in a commerical district (restaurants, gift shops, offices, etc), so they can't 'manufacture' in that area. FWIW: Across the intersection is a JAX Bicycles (small bicycle shop chain here in SoCal), and its sells Phat and Electra cruisers (as well as the whole Trek bicycles lineup).

The more I've been looking at different brands and checking online videos and reviews, I'm leaning more towards an Electra bicycle. Hoping to get to two local stores this weekend to check out a couple models.
