surreal 12-12-13 10:49 PM

Judging by the view of the wretched Tacony-Palmyra Bridge in the background of the first pic, I'm wager that ilikebikes is in NE Phila, which is kinda like a gigantic, outdoors penitentiary in and of itself. Barbed wire is ubiquitous, in those parts.

ilikebikes 12-13-13 10:30 AM

Its the old Armory on State road. I don't know why surreal is making it out to be a dump. BTW, New Jersey has 108 toxic waste dumps. Which is the most in any one state in the nation. Now that's what I call a dump.

surreal 12-13-13 02:13 PM

Not a dump; a gigantic outdoor penitentiary. :thumb: there's a distinction there..... I actually kinda like the NE, except that Roosevelt Blvd is the worst thing ever.

As for the Tac-Pal Bridge: I have no love for that thing. Been caught on the wrong side of the drawbridge too many times....But it's a tempting route, due to lower tolls....

I also wouldn't want to invite any NJ/Phila comparisons, b/c
#1- NJ, despite some charming aspects, is a fairly gross/crowded/unpleasant place (certainly, one might argue that it's a "dump", but I prefer to think of it as a collection of small, conjoined dumps...)
#2- Phila is the Capitol of South Jersey, anyway.

ilikebikes 12-13-13 10:14 PM

A Jersey driver complaining about the Roosevelt BLVD! :twitchy:
"Go back to Joysey you moron!" -Scrooged!
;)

surreal 12-14-13 12:12 AM

Do you know ANYone, ANYwhere, with a stomach for the Blvd? Driving it is one thing; I can't imagine it's fun to ride on/near, plus it is a contender for the Most Pedestrian Fatalities per Mile "award". I've driven on it many times, and somehow never had an accident. But, it's a white knuckle ride, even for those of us who drive it routinely...

ilikebikes 12-14-13 01:34 AM

Its pretty bad. Ive been driving on the BLVD since I I started driving, and I still hate it!

My electra rally sport

Rollfast 12-25-13 04:55 AM

Not bad! The seat is high enough too which I've been telling the folks in the RatFink/Electra thread needed to be done. One question though.

Will a motorcycle gas tank really fit in there and what about a 70-125cc? THAT one doesn't seem likely.

And welcome to Bike Forums!

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=356842 My 1987 Murray Monterey. I like the larger, stretched frame. I plan to get a new seat and somehow have a custom seat post made. I bent this one.

i want one of those genesis 32's. i wanted to end up with both it and the mongoose beast, and the beast went on sale over thanksgiving so i got it first. now they make that geared genesis ultra for about $30 more than the single speed, so that's what i what i plan to try and get.
