Hopefully my images work ok. This is my electra tiger shark. I've added taller handlebars, fat frank tires (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), a rack and bags, a sexy mudflap girl and monkey lights! I'm looking into welding military ammo cans to the rack as panniers instead of soft bags. I'm hiring an artist friend to paint a vintage pinup girl on the front fender. I'm looking for all sorts of cool customizations, sticking to the WWII theme, any suggestions are much appreciated! Short of a handlebar mounted turret ***. Sadly not legal here.





Shout out to denman bikes on main st, vancouver for hooking me up with this beast and keeping it in tip top shape.

Auslo - That Tiger Shark might be my most favorite bike at the moment. Would you mind telling me your experience with switching to the new handlebars and especially, the Fat Frank tires?

Here's my new baby. '15 Electra Cruiser 1, converted to 3-speed. I've added a little bling, but hopefully it's not too over the top. Might do some more later on. (EDIT: The second cruiser is my wife's newly-purchased '07 Black Betty with 24" wheels. Found it on Craigslist, and she loves it!)

Please post a report on your thoughts on this bike when you feel you have enough time to know if you like, love, hate or am indifferent about it. This cought my eye when it was announced and might pick one up closer to summer but would like to know what owners have to report. I've been able to find no reviews about this yet.

I suppose its the 50mm rims and lack of tread makes them look like ballooned inner tubes, they have a round profile so go fat soon as they are inflated!

I bet you are right, it must be the rim. I have the same tires on a bike with 32mm rims and they don't look nearly as jumbo. In fact, they only measure 47mms. What do yours measure???

They grip like snot though.

Can't remember if I ever commented on this one or not, but that is one beautiful, clean-looking cruiser you have there. Kudos!

I just put those same Thickslicks on the wheels for a build I'm working on...a 2010 Schwinn Corvette frame to be built with all sorts of non-OEM parts. The wheels are Weinmann AS7X rims attached to Shimano hubs, and along with the width + Thorn-resistant tubes + Mr Tuffy's liners, she's gonna be a heavy beast, but I love those tires, hands-down...got a set of 28mms on one of my Racers, and they flow like a river.

Might be a week or two. Working on house projects, just got promoted to management in January...life's been busy, but I promise I will post photos as she moves along. Hoping to do BB/Headset installation this weekend...might get finished before Monday, but I like to give myself breathing room on deadlines.

I took it out to a local M.U.P. I rode approx. 4.2 miles. I try to memorize points on the trails I ride so I can have an idea of distance with bikes without computer.
I am not in shape to ride 50 miles in a day but still have decent power in my legs if I don't go far. Without changing the sprocket this bike would be a bear to ride on anything but flat smooth ground. After changing to a 22 tooth sprocket on the rear it is slow but ride-able

Thanks! I think if I was to have just 1 bike this would be it. I was thinking of a carbon fork but the my original steel Fatty fork looks pretty good. May have to get it powder coated and build me some lightweight wheels with some Marge Lites. It weighs just a little over 30 lbs with the Surly Black Floyds.

Looks: spot on.

Quality: appropriate for price point. Lots of no-name parts, frame is solid, Hayes brakes better than expected. Heavy Electra branded tires. Rims are adequate for casual road use, but would not expect them to last long with regular offroad use. Will consider replacing: stem and handlebar (style), tires - rims - front hub (quality/weight), saddle and seatpost & cranks and pedals (style/personal preference/quality).

Performance: Geometry more like a 29er mtn bike than a cruiser, which is a plus for me. SRAM i3 shifting is fine. Weight is on the heavier side, but acceptable for what it is. Not a lot of saddle time -- due to extended winter, ragged roads, and snow covered trails.

Summary: the frame I always lusted after with adequate but not noteworthy parts spec. An acceptable platform for a better build.

2010 Corvette build complete! (Sort of)
@SquidPuppet: Here she is...MSRP of the original Corvette sat around $300...my build came out to about $280, but I didn't have a bunch of stock parts left over to add to the clutter in my house. Everything is pretty much exactly as I wanted it, save for the fact that the frame came without Schwinn's little "gas tank" (cup holder). I'm thinking of putting something else in there, but haven't quite decided what to do just yet...easiest thing to fill that gap would be a seat bag from another bike tied down and reversed, or I could have some metal shaped/wood cut; either way, that internal debate could go on for weeks. The B-67 saddle was moved over from the last cruiser I purchased. GR is 44:20, and the ride is S-M-O-O-T-H, but thanks to the combination of Thickslicks + Mr Tuffy's + Thorn-resistant tubes, the rolling resistance is noticeable. In my eyes, it's worth the flat protection since I'll mostly use this for fun-time cruising...might attach a trunk rack later and commute on it to see how she does.
