    Lightweight cruiser - klunker style

Finally saw a deal on an alloy cruiser frame I can build up with parts bin goodies.
Here's a mock-up of some parts: suspension fork, riser bars, lightweight wheelset with 2.5 knobby tires. Its surprisingly light even with the suspension fork. I still may do a rigid fork but this looks like more fun. Will either keep it 1x7 or go with an SS setup.

I was going to paint the frame but leaving the cruiser paint seems to give it work too.20130915_111025.jpg20130915_143609.jpg

Nice score, I don't mind the original stem and bar.
It's none of my business what other people think of me.

If I put the original forks back on I'll use the stem but keep the riser bars. They handle better on a mix of terrain and I'd love to surprise some mountain bikers on the trails.

My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"

Front shock, cantis, SS build. = SEXY! BEAST! (<<<my vote)
You see, their morals, their code...it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these...These "civilized" people...they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve

I'm stripping the frame today. May just paint it but if the stripping works easily I'll leave it bare.

All done. Made a few of the old parts work. I also repainted the rest of the bike so it may go back to a nice cruiser with fenders and 6 speed twist shift.
