I bought my wife a cruiser

So last night I bought a used Sea Breeze cruiser for my wife. See picture attached. I thought it was pretty good for $70 and she isn't much of a bicycle commuter - just something for random weekends. Anyways...I come to realize that when I place it upside down and pedal the back tire makes a chirping noise and wobbles a little bit. I drove it and it feels fine but it was a little concerning. Is there any easy ways to fix it or should i just pay $40 for a local bike shop to tune it?

Chirping sounds like the wheel is out of true and the tire is hitting something. It could be as simple as the rear wheel being a bit loose and out of alignment, or more complicated such as a loose hub bearing or the wheel being out of true. If you are not familiar with bicycle mechanics it would probably be worth having the shop go over it for you. Or find a bicycle Co-op that will teach you how to work on your own bike if you are interested.

I thought it was out of true as well. I took it to a LBS and he said it was normal and didn't charge me. He tightened one of the bolts and it stopped making the chirping sound. However, I think the wheel still looks wobbly. Might take it elsewhere for a second opinion.

Make sure you are looking at the rim and not the tire. The fat tires on a cruiser can wobble and the rims can still be straight, they seem to be worse about it than the narrower tires.

If the sound stopped I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Ok that makes sense and maybe i'm just picky. Looks like it's only the tire wobbling not the rim.

    Thanks for the help!!
