Trek Sawyer was the Best Cruiser Ever

I was really disappointed when Trek discontinued the Sawyer. IMO, the Sawyer had it all!

The best cruiser of the future will be a single speed that looks exactly like the Sawyer, made of chromoly steel, has a generator headlight, as well as rack and fender mounts.

It should also cost under $1000!

The 1st time I saw a Sawyer was when someone posted one in the Hybrid sub-forum and I knew right then I had to get one. I have had mine for 2 years now and love it!

Looks too big for me but it looks really nice. Did they discontinue it due to sales numbers?

Yup! The sales for the Sawyer were always dismal

I finally found a used 2011 Sawyer.

Arrived last week and have been adjusting parts and replacing some older components.

I'm 5' 11" with a 30" inseam and the 17.5" (medium) frame fits perfectly. Easy enough to expand cockpit, but the standover height is just right. The 19" (large) will have very little clearance in my case.

You might have better luck at pinkbike than eBay.

Awesome bike!

Check out the "show me your Cruiser" thread, page 13. There is a nice Sawyer build sporting a 11 speed internal hub.

Wow a 19" posted on Pink Bike today.
