Is this part made new today? Anybody know where?

I'd consider a lightly used one.. around 220 steer length (not sure at present). Prefer threadless.. a threaded might work also.

Does it have to be aluminum? That will make it tough. Surly offers their Cross Check fork in 1" threadless but it's steel.

Bike shops are a good place to ask, still .. Kinesis was one welded unicrown type.

BITD the Italian AlAn made competition cyclocross racing bikes with aluminum steerer and a steel steerer forks.. they were lively , particularly under braking .

blades were screwed into the fork crown the both bent to rake, at the builders shops .

If you're interested, you could upgrade to carbon. Nashbar 1" cantilever fork is $125

Wow, that's heavy for carbon! I have frames that weigh only a little more than that. At that weight I'd just get the Surly steel fork and never worry about it.

For reference,
Nashbar carbon fork: 880g
Surly steel fork: 970g
