Dented Mavic Ksyrium Helium Wheelset

Hey guys,

I have a set of Mavic Ksyrium Helium Wheelset that are dented from a car accident. Unfortunately, the guy that rear ended me doesn't have a license and a valid insurance and my insurance will not cover the wheels. I got the rear dent out some what nice but the front wheel's dent on the braking surface is pretty bad where it might affect the braking. What can I do with these wheelset? is there a way for me to some how use just the hubs? build a new wheel? Just didn't know what I can do to fix or salvage what is left...

Depending on the nature and extent of the damage, you can squeeze or hammer the blip back into the overall line of the brake track pretty closely, then dress out the smaller imperfections with a file, or sanding block.

As to the driver, if you called the police to the scene and have an accident report, you can recover damages from the driver or car's owner. Laws and procedures vary by state, but in most states police must arrest a driver without either license or insurance, or at the very minimum impound the vehicle and have it towed because that cannot allow the driver to drive it away. Also, you might be able to notify the police that you have a pending claim against the owner, and in some states they won't release the vehicle until a bond is posted to cover your claim. If not paid, they can auction the car and use the proceeds to pay you after the storage and tow fees are paid.

Do these use conventional spokes and rims or some crazy proprietary Mavic pieces? Answering that will help us tell you what your options are.

Your link doesn't seem to go anywhere.

I have exactly the same wheelset. The spokes and rims are proprietary Mavic pieces.
