What are these washers for?

I have dozens of these washers, smooth and convex on one side, serrated and concave on the other, about 0.75" in diameter. I got them a couple years ago in a big lot of bike parts I bought on eBay, but they don't fit any of my vintage bikes. What might they be used for?

(Sorry, the interface on my phone doesn't give me the option to upload a photo. Well add that later when I'm in front of a real computer.)

If the holes are 3/8" pr 10mm, they're axle washers. The serrations go toward the frame to provide bite and prevent slippage on horizontal dropouts.

If they're small, could they be for brake pads ? The concave-convex feature lets you angle the pads optimally.

Not small, and quite thick. Much too large for, say, the washers on my Dia-Compe cantilever brakes. Not like any axle washers I've seen before, but maybe for a three-speed? Given the large number of headset bits in the lot I purchased, I thought perhaps they had something to do with threadless headsets, of which I know nothing.

Again, it depends on the size of the holes, but axle washers of a similar type were fairly common on children's coaster brake bikes.

I just measured the largest washers on my '88 Exage cantis and U-brakes, and they're 11/16" diameter. Betcha that's what these are.

How about a coin or tape measure for a reference?

Sure look like Wald #318 axle washers to me. I have a box of them in my basement. Best axle washers made. Andy
