6 spd campy

I have an old 6 spd with 125 spacing and want to put the new brake lever shifters on it. is there a company who makes brake shifters that will work? or can I put a 8 spd 130 spacing rear hub and get the old 8 spd brake shifters? (and change the rear derailler)

I wouldn't waste my time with 8 speed. If the frame is steel, spread it to 130 and do 9 speed .

Why? Is there something inherently wrong with 8 speed?

Do you want to use your existing wheel or get a new one?
Is your 6 speed a screw-on freewheel? You can change it for a Shiamno 7spd which is spaced correctly (5mm cog-cog) for Campy 8spd mech and shifters.
