What checks should I do and when?
Awaiting delivery of my new bike (most expensive purchase to date on a bike) and I want to keep it safe and running well for as long as possible!
Wondering what kind of daily, weekly and monthly checks I should be doing to it?
I hear of things like needing to re grease the chain etc and all of the specialist bottles of cleaning agents needed etc and I know this can get very extensive and complex, but as mechanics what do you recommend I do as a beginner to keep my bike good?
Thanks

Generally checking periods are sooner when new then expand as miles go on then get sooner as the miles get a lot. But this is a shade of gray thing. Depending on equipment grade, initial assembly, use style/loads, exposure issues. So no definite schedule exists that's applicable to all situations. But more frequent is not wrong. Andy.
