Aftermarket Cassettes

Anyone have experience or opinions as to the quality, longevity, and performanceof "aftermarket" Shimano compatible cassettes such as Miche, American Classic, IRD and Sunrace??

I don't count SRAM as an aftermarket manufacturer and like their cassettes very much.
However, they don't offer a 12-23 10 speed cassette and that is about the only way I can get an 18 tooth cog.
I really like the 18 tooth cog...........

I have used both Miche and Ambrosio cassettes on my Campy bike. Both were well made and long wearing, although a bit heavier than Campy versions.

I'm using Miche Campy compatible and it's fine. Wear and shifting are both indistinguishable from Campy so far.
Miche is all separate cogs and they sell replacements of all sizes so if you wear one out you don't toss the whole cassette.

Shimano still makes the Ultegra 6700 12-23 and 6600W 13-25, 14-25, 15-25, and 16-25.

I like my 18 cog too, and have happily run bigger starting cogs and/or triple cranks to avoid that gap.

I to have had good success with Miche cassettes. The ability to swap ratios as you feel is kinda handy without having to buy a whole new cassette

Shimano makes a 12-23 10-speed cassette as well.

Yup. That's who made the one I have been using.
Shimano tends to be a bit pricey at times, so I am just looking for other options.

Are you buying your cassettes from a UK source? Online UK retail prices are often less than US wholesale, and shipping for small things like cassettes to California is no slower or more expensive than from the US East Coast.

6700 12-23 cassettes are $38.68 from Ribble. Versus $36.18 for a Miche Primato cassette that's not a big premium for a known quantity.

https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/roa...te/shimcass913

Select USA for the destination and US $ for currency to get a quote without VAT (about 20%) which we do not pay.

Some credit cards charge a ~3% currency conversion fee, some (my Chase card) do not.

I have used Merlin and Wiggle. The latter did have them for under $40.00.
I find that UK prices change from day to day.
Thanks for the new source!
