Attaching computer pickup to aero fork

My fork terminology might be off here, but anyway. I have an older Cateye "Mity" computer (12-13 yrs old) with a sensor pickup that attaches to the front fork. It came with a hard plastic strap that fits around a fork up to about 3/4" diameter, which fit my old-school road bike just fine. But my new bike has one of these "aero" forks with very deep, narrow blades, and the Cateye strap just won't fit.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a strap that will fit the old computer to the newer bike? Or should I just buy a new computer? Are newer computers' sensor units constructed to fit these types of forks?

Duh, and I've got a bunch of these left over from some wiring I did last year. Never even thought about using them. Thanks everyone.
