Compability sora shifters deore rear deralier

Hi guys. I want to convert my cross trekking bike to cyclo cross bike. So I am wondering if shimano sora break levers/shifters will work with deore shadow rear derailleur. They are both 9 speed.

9 speed road and MTB will work fine together for shifting, same with 7 & 8 speed, as long as the shifters match the cassette, where you get incompatibility is when moving up to 10/11 speed.

Yes, Shimano ten speed road levers would also work, assuming you buy a 10 speed cassette.
