powdercoat vs. paint on lugged...

so here's the deal. i just got a really nice new lugged frameset that has a little bit of rust starting, so naturally i want to end it.

i'm looking into getting it powdercoated, but a few people have mentioned that powdercoating can take some of the detail out of the shoreline of the lugs. does anyone have anything to say about that?

also, painting is much more expensive than powdercoating, and not as durable. however, if a powdercoat is going to make my lugs turn bland, i'll spring for paint. in either case, i'll need to get the frame stripped. beadblasting has been recommended over sandblasting to prevent potential damage to the tubes. will beadblasting take care of the rust, as well, or will it need to be sandpapered as well?

thoughts? experiences?

A good powdercoat does not dull the lugs:
