Proudly showing off my first build
Just wanted to show off my first build.
Here is the parts list:
- Frame Jamis Dragon (Reynolds 853)
- Fork RockShox Duke SL 100mm Travel
- Headset Cane Creek S2 Silver
- Crankset Shimano XT 22/32/44t
- Bottom Bracket Shimano Octalink
- F. Derailleur Shimano XT
- R. Derailleur Shimano XT
- Shift Lever Shimano LX
- Cog Set Shimano Cassette 11/32t 9spd
- Chain Sram PC99
- Hubset and rims Alex Equation Disc Wheelset
- Tires WTB Epic Wolf 1.95
- Brakes Shimano M525 Hydraulic Disc
- Handlebar Ritchey Comp
- Grips Ritchey TGV
- Stem Ritchey Comp OS Threadless 6°
- Seatpost Ritchey Comp
- Saddle WTB Rocket-V Race
I should mention that I did everything myself. Well, that is actually not true as I had my LBS install the fork race crown race because I did not have the specific tool. All the rest, I did myself, including installing the headset and BB. I took her for a test road yesterday and she behaved like the beauty she is. As soon as the trails dry (it is raining here) she will get her dirt baptism.

jz19, as far as I can tell, it looks good.
Not to discredit you in any way ... just having some fun. Here's my first build ... as it stands, as of today.
Here is the parts list:
- Frame - some of this one and some of the others in the heap.
- BBs - Two, one Euro and one American ... I just don't like to seem partial. (the American BB will be for something undisclosed)
I'd ask some questions, but "what would I ask"? Of course, it's supposed to be a bent, when I get done.

Ummm...did you install the wheel reflectors and spoke protector yourself also? Looks like a LBS job. I know you built it youself, just razzing you a bit . Nice colors by the way. Now go and immerse it in mud like it wants!

Maybe he bought the wheels rather than build 'em...Nothing wrong with that...

He he, yes I expected some comments about the reflectors and the pedals with clips.
The reflectors have their story though as I bought a whole new bike for the parts and then passed on all the parts to the Dragon. I save a few bucks doing it that way. I had to buy a new headset and front derailler but the rest all came from that whole bike. The refectors were part of the package. It also explains the choice of part as if I had bought everything myself would have probably gone with different rims and choice of brakes. All in all, I am happy with the outcome.
