Hydraulic brake is rubbing, HELP!
Hey guys... I am a bike mechanic and have been doing this for four years now. All the bikes I work on are nasty old bikes so I am not completely familiar with disk brakes. I just recently got my first bike with hydraulics and I am having some trouble with the front brake. The problem is that there is not enough room on either side to have the brake pads not rub. So what I cant figure out is how to adjust the brake to keep from rubbing. My best guess would be to drain some of the hydraulic fluid?
The rotor is perfect and the brake is a Hayes nine.
Thanks,
Nate

is it an old brake.. been used a bit, sometimes the cylinders in the caliper will start to stick, and will not retract all the way back in when you let go of the brakes, you can try pushing them back in, after removing the pads with a 10mm wrench, if that does not get them moving, you might have to rebuild them, it is easy to do, and the rebuild kit does not cost that much,,
