Torpedo shifter with Sturmey Hub?

Does anyone know if a Torpedo 3 speed trigger shifter will work with a sturmey hub?

Unlikely, and Torpedo trigger shifters were pretty lousy. Why not just purchase an SE/Nexus compatible?

I believe the cable pull amounts for each gear are different between SA, Torepdo (Sachs) and Shimano. You might get 2 of the 3 gears to work somewhat well. But since running a IGH off adjusted can and does wear the internals and some of these internals are of limited availability why would one do that? Andy (who knows the likely reason but can't suggest it any ways).
