Newbie owner Question (wheel noise)
My bike (2004 GT Timberline) is fine on the road, very quiet, etc. BUT if I go around a corner with anything less than a 90 degree angle (meaning no bike lean), I get a vibration/rubbing noise from the front wheel.
Where shoudl I start to look?

Your front hub may be loose.
Stand beside the bike and wiggle the wheel side to side. If it moves you need to adjust your hub.
Enjoy

Underinflated tires! on a whim, I checked my pressure (they did not look that low), they were about 20 lbs low. Now no noise!

What kind of tires have you got? A lot of bikes are delivered with those smooth-in-the-middle, knobby on the edges jobs that were originally meant for XC racing. Crank it over and you're running on the knobs...

I forget the brand, but they have the aqua tread type of feature. they have a sturdy sidewall, not much for deep lugs though, appears to mostly a road tire. They do not show too well that they are low in air. But you can really feel it going over bumps.
