hubub/shimergo on a m591 rear derailleur

Hi guys,
I have a 10 speed campy ergo married to a rd-6600 short cage and 9 speed shimano cassette. It works great! I need a lower gear and will be going 34T on the cassette. My rd-6600 won't support it and am thinking of going rd-m591. Anyone if this will work? I'm assuming the pull is the same so it shouldn't be a problem but if someone has tried such a build, I would love to hear your results.
For the record, I'm running a 1x9.

Thanks.
