Disc brake rub after rainy ride

I have been riding in the rain a lot past few days. I always when I come home I spin the wheels to get most of the water out the brakes.
I notice when I spin the wheels that I have brake rub after the ride that I did not have before the ride.
It's usually fixed my realigning the calipers.

Any ideas why this happen?

Some organic pads swell slightly when wet, I suspect that and /or road grit on the pads, and discs is what you are experiencing.

Pull your calipers apart and make sure they dried out OK. I have seen a lot of rust and corrosion on disk brake calipers causing minor to major problems. My solution to commonly corroded parts is a waterproof grease.

Your internal mechanical parts.. may like some rust inhibition. hydraulics obviously Do Not.

Clean the dirt out of the caliper ?

There is a grease compatible with DOT fluid brake calipers - called red rubber grease.

I've used it for winter ridden motorcycle disc brake pistons. Greasing the part that sticks out of the calipers. Just making sure it is applied only onto the pistons, not the (front side of the) brake pads.

Not sure which one is recommended for mineral oil calipers.

Greetings, you are right, however, as in automobiles, and motorbikes, I've used anti seize , not grease on the metal backs of disc brake pads to quiet squealing brakes. Skoda Rapid 130's front discs were sometimes quite noisy!
Regards

Anti seize copper grease on backs of the pads and on sliders (on motor vehicles).

Hard to pinpoint the exact cause but it's never bothered me much. It's nothing compared to the awful feeling of grinding your rims away using rim brakes in the rain.

My semi metallic pads on my TRP Spykes will rub after a good wet ride, the pads tend to swell just a tiny bit and will cause a rubbing noise. Never enough of a rub to be a concern for me and I never hear it the next day after they have dried up.

With all the rain we have had the last 4 months, my pads are almost completely worn out. TRP warns that their pads wear quicker in wet conditions, and they weren't lying.
