URGENT...kinda
I'm finally sittin down (like right now) to put together an old Schwinn Voyageur...I have a new chain but ya know they come longer than you need (don't they?)...I don't remember where the old chain ended up so I can't count the links to figure out how many links I should re-install. I bought this chain last fall and I'm sure I told the Scwinn guy what I was doing but..... This is probably a dumb question....how do I know if this chain is already the correct length or if it needs shortening, then how do I figure that? The bike is a 25'' frame triple front crank and five cassette on back. Does a triple require a different set up than a double? If not then I guess I could just count the links on my old 25" Super Le Tour and go with that. Thanks for any input!

Put the chain over the largest chainwheel & the smallest rear cog. The derailleur cage should be vertical. Add or remove links till it is.
