EBB Slipping Tips?

My EBB on my Furley has a tendency to slip and cause chain slack, it's the standard inexpensive EBB that comes on the bike, uses a wedge and a bolt. Any tips to stop it from slipping as frequently or how tips on adjusting fast / efficiently would be appreciated. Cheers

What chain tension are you trying to use?
Remember that the correct tension for a SS/IGH is no tension. You should be able to lift the chain 1/2" or so mid-run.

Otherwise, if you have friends that are gearheads, ask for a dab of valve lapping compound. Disassemble and smear this on the pinching surfaces - not anything threaded - and reassemble.

And the threaded parts as well as the sliding surface of the wedge should be greased. Andy.

got 100 bike shops in PDX , you surveyed any of those ?
one possibility + all the greasing mentioned above,
Is remove the EBB use a "carbon assembly paste" made of grease + grit..

you could mix your own.. Local content..

Use some of the Mt St Helens Ash in the grease*. and apply it to the BB shell ,EBB interface for surface grip & corrosion resistance..

* plenty still on the banks of the Kalama around Kelso, from the 1980 eruption.
