Sora 3500 & 3030 compatibility

Is the current Sora 3500 (double) and 3030 (triple) compatible with older Tiagra nine speed 4500 & 4503? I'd like to mix & match derailleurs and shifters.

It should be. As far as I know, ALL Shimano 9 speed stuff is compatible, aside from MTB and road front derailleurs and shifters. Sora on up to Dura Ace and Acera to XTR all use the same cable pull ratios to my knowledge.

Yes, I expect this is correct. I wanted to double check since the current Tiagra 4700 ten speed is not cross compatible with older ten speed groups, including 5600, 6600 5700 and 6700 Ultegra and 105. Current Sora should be cross compatible with older ten speed components as long as the shifter matches the cassette.

Yeah, Shimano went with the '11 speed' cable pull for Tiagra 4700, likely to make it more reliable with hidden cables.

That looks like a good reference.
