Installing STI shifters on a carbon bar
 

I have a new set of Specialized S-Works carbon handlebars that I want to install a new set of Shimano STI shifter/brakes on. The bar instructions say to remove the clamps on the shifters to install them onto the bar and them install the shifters back onto the clamps. This makes sense to avoid any damage to the bar.

My question: I've looked at the diagram for the shifters, and it looks like it's okay to comletely remove the clamping bolt. I assume this will let the clamp release from the shifter body.

Does this sound ok?

I also assume that the bolt nut will not fall out of position when this is done, thereby making reattachment a pain.
