Torque for Race Face Cadence crank bolt?
Anyone know the torque for the Race Face Cadence road crank bolt? It's a 2 piece crank with the drive side held on with a self extracting bolt.
Looking at the Race Face site, other cranks of that style are 37 to 45 ft lbs. There is no mention of the Cadence crank on their site - or any where else on the web.
I emailed them a week ago with no response. May have to give them a call.
I installed a used crank and tightened to 35 ft lb. After several rides I went to check the bolt torque and it suddenly went slack. I figured I had stripped the bolt so disassembled. Everything looked good so I tried again with the same result.
Took it all apart and found that the top hat part of the bolt had sheared off - the threaded section would just thread into the spindle.
I've got a replacement on order (hopefully the right one since no parts lists) but wondering what torque to use when it arrives. It's an aluminum bolt, probably M15 so maybe should have a lower torque than the MTB cranks on the site.
Race Face cranks have a reputation for coming loose so I'd like to do this right. Stupid thing is the crank bolt self extracting retainer ring has the torque marked on it but nothing about the crank bolt.

Apparently these cranks coming loose is an issue. A saga and a number for torque is mentioned in this thread:
Race Face Cadence cranks comes loose?
Unfortunately, Race Face has removed or moved the instructions for this crank. I'm not a customer, but when companies fail to do stuff to support past that is almost free (like keeping out of production product's instructions available), it's not a good sign.
You may be able to write Race Face and ask for the instructions on pdf.
