What's the best wireless cyclometer with cadence?

I'm sick of the axiom astrale 8 losing cadence function. It only works about 2/3rd of the time. I'm always messing with the sensors. It's not very old, since Oct so I don't think wiring is a problem and the other functions work fine. But I would like to remove wiring as a problem area. I don't have a HID light yet, so that is currently not a problem, but could be a problem
in the future.

So, what's the best wireless cyclometer with cadence?

Important factors are:

-- easy to read
-- accurate
-- dependable
-- low interference with HID lights [ future ]

Thanks for your suggestions.

Personally, I never get sick of messing with the cadence sensor on my Astrale 8, but that's just me

How 'bout the Vetta? https://snipurl.com/fbeh

I'll check it out. thanks. I think the polar runs over $300 and didn't really want to spend that much.

The Polar runs around 145 US, if you can find it. Around the same as the Cateye Double Wireless (without HR)

Thanks, I hadn't looked yet. Another poster recommended only the Polar S720i which retails for $310. The Polar CS200cad retails for $150. The S series is a watch and I don't need another watch. The CS model is a normal cyclometer.

It looks like the Polar is 4mm max clearance while the Axiom was about 2mm. The acceptance of greater variation in distance should make the Polar a better buy. Interesting.

My Mavic Win-Tech is very cool. What makes it so is that the transducer for the speedo is built into a special Mavic skewer that you simply swap with your regular front skewer and you're done. The cadence transducer is simple too as it straps to your downtube. The total installation time is five to ten minutes max.

The unit works VERY well and does not get squirrelly when I get around other electronic gear. Also my HRM does not interefere with it. It's very accurate and seems bullet proof. You can pick the entire set up for $150.

I looked at the Cateye (same price) but liked the ease of installation on the Mavic.

They are. Quite true. But cadence (per the OP's ?), they lack. No?

Neil0502....

To get cadence on the Mavic WinTech, you have to buy the cadence package. The WinTech computer is about $100 bucks and the cadence package an extra $50.

Your problem with the Cadance feature seems odd. I have the same unit for about a year and have not had to adjust mine since I installed it. If the unit is still under warranty I would send it back and get a new one.

It may be odd, but I don't think it is the unit but the rider. The side of my foot keeps on moving the sensor on the crank and the receiver on the frame arm, can't remember name, moves up and down a tad. Probably because I have bumped it so often.

Another Wintech user here.

My only problem is the cadence magnet. It suddenly doesn't seem to pack enough power to drive the sensor. One of my other forums suggested stacking a rare earth magnet on the original or simply replacing the original with the rare earth magnet.

Now all I have to do is find the little stinkers. Wonder if RadioShack carries them???

Assuming it works as I've been told, I suppose you could do the same thing with any cadence magnet on any cyclometer.

One other question - on the Wintech, can the skewer be used on the back wheel instead of the front. I'd like to get info when the bike is on the trainer.
