How to cut titanium steerer tube
I am contemplating the purchase of a used Alpha Q fork with a titanium steerer tube, but the tube is too long and would have to be cut. Is some special technique required to shorten this fork, or is it possible to cut titanium with a hacksaw, just like CF, aluminum or steel?

Titanium can be cut with a hacksaw. You may want to use a new blade though since titanium is tough to cut.

There are a few carbide hacksaw blades out there that do a marginally better job on titanium than regular steel. That Ti stuff is hard!

Guys: Thanks for the information. I expected it would be tough to cut. I just wanted to be sure a hacksaw wouldn't bounce off like a .22 off an M1 tank.
