RockShox Hydra Air coil system

Can anybody tell me about this? Does it actually have a coil?
I'm rebuilding my friend's MTB and he doesn't want an air sprung fork. But I was looking at a RS Duke and they have Hydra Air ciol system.

Thanks guys.

How about the Duke C? According to RS website it is has an air spring and a coil. Which cuts weight but makes it low maintenance and gives a wide range of adjustment options. \
The guy I'm doing this for is a low maintenance maniac, is the Duke C the wrong fork for him?

not that I can explain this very well but... I have the Duke xc and it is as I am told a air shock, you have a small pump to raise the internal pressure, but there is also what seems to be a spring adjustment which you can tighten or loosen to gain rebound time. so maybe there is a small coil inside. It is a excellent suspension fork though, I am very satisfied with it.

if it's an air sprung fork, it's usually (not all) higher maintenance...that is if you want it to keep working smoothly. I wonder if the coil is similar to the first generation SID that had a coil negative spring to aid the air spring. If he really wants low maintenance but doesn't mind the weight, tell him to get a coil sprung Marzocchi fork (Atom 80?)...as long as it has boots on the stanctions, he'll be fine for a while..

well it appears to be, in the manual which came with the susp fork, it said to air up the fork to a specified psi according to weight, and to use a thin teflon lub on the fork itself. other then that there are only 2 other adjustments, one for racing the other for rebound. seems pretty simple to me, but I have yet to fully service them.
