Click click BB? the heat got to it

It's been really hot out here... It was a hard ride in, really hot and head wind, I almost melted... and on the way this click click click started happening. I was trying to figure it out, it was coming either from the crank, bottom bracket, chain, or pedals... Every time I pushed on the pedal - click ...

When I got in, I took a look, and if I put the pedal at 12-6 o'clock, and press hard with my hand on the 6 o'clock pedal, the BB clicks . Now this is an old 87 Trek 560, with 531 steel and full Shimano 105...

First question, what do you think is wrong? Is it the BB?

Second, what can I do about it? I am relatively handy, but would take it in if needed...

Thanks in advance for any info. ..

I am having the same problem. See this thread:
https://www.bikeforums.net/bicycle-mechanics/114804-creaky-marin-alu-frame-bottom-bracket.html
I'm going to check the pedals and the rear wheel quick release first, then take it to a LBS if nothing else works.

You're just assuming that.
You don't seem to read things thoroughly.
Read the link to my thread at the top and
see the solution at the bottom.
His symptoms are exactly the same as mine.
A lot of people seem to jump the gun in these
forums, be careful who you listen to.
Some people think they have the answer
to everything.
