What size BB does a GT XCR take?

I want to use a triple chainset (square taper), and need to know the correct BB width. Many thanks

You need to know the BB shell with of your frame, and the spindle length required fot the crank you are planning on using.

Ok, could someone please let me know the shell width? The crankset I am using is a Shimano STX triple, I think the BB I have in there is 108 mm wide, and is slightly too narrow. I would like to find out what other people are using before buying one.
    Many thanks

Oftentimes one measurement is worth a thousand guesses. If you're planning to do very much of this kind of work, you need to buy a ruler calibrated in millimeters.
    1. Measure the width of your frame's bottom bracket shell. It's probably 73mm.
    2. Measure the distance between your frame's rear dropouts. It's probably 135mm.
    3. If you look up the recommended spindle length for your crank, it will probably say 110/113mm.

If all of my GUESSES are right you will need a 73 X 113 bottom bracket.

I was just asking to see if anyone here had the same frame, and hence could quickly tell me which one I needed. I'm not entirely sure, but I believe the shell is not quite that wide. Thansk for the rough idea anyway. Many thanks
