Ultegra Cassette on Dura Ace Hub?

Today I tried to replace a Duira Ace cassette (12-21, 8-speed) with an Ultegra cassette (11-21, 8-speed) on a Dura Ace hub. The Ultegra Cassette chattered on the hub (side-to-side play). A 1 mm shim took out the chatter but threw off the shifting. After playing with both cable tension and the b-screw adjustment, I concluded that the Ultegra cassette simply was not going to work and put the old Dura Ace cassette back on.

What the...????Are these cassettes supposed to be compatible? Am I missing something?

Sheldon Brown has the skinny on HG compact hub bodies. The 11 cog is the issue. The spacer should have been the fix.But may also have required tweaking the limit screws.
