Cottered to Seald BB conversion
Can you make a cottereed bottom bracket use a sealed bottom brakets? I've got 2 goo lugged frames, but I want to use more modern cranks. What can I do? What are my options?

You can get French or even Swiss Phil Wood cartridge BBs from Sheldon. Alternatively, you can probably replace just your spindle with one designed for cotterless cranks, as I have done on several bikes, including two Peugeot UO-8s. The variables are spindle length, distance between bearing surfaces, and the thickness of your BB cups.
