Shimano FD w/SRAM Gripshift?

I am swapping frames on an MTB I built up as a commuter. I have SRAM 4.0 pro gripshifters and had been running SRAM 5.0 esp front and rear derailleurs with no problem. My new frame requires a top-swing FD and it doesn't look like SRAM makes one so I'm going to have to go Shimano. My gripshifters are 1:1 ratio so they're technically not Shimano-compatible but will they work at all with a Shimmy FD?

I guess I could try and find a compatible SRAM shifter or just switch out the left shifter for a Shimano trigger. Any other suggestions?

SRAM's shifters are fully compatible with Shimano's front derailleurs.

To my knowledge, Sram front shifters are Shimano FD compatible. The rear shifters/drailers are where the ratio issue is.

I wonder if that will last now that sram's making a front deraillieur.

They've made front derailleurs for years. The X-Gen isn't the first, it's just the best.

Thanks all. This project just got a lot easier.
