Shimano FD w/SRAM Gripshift?
I am swapping frames on an MTB I built up as a commuter. I have SRAM 4.0 pro gripshifters and had been running SRAM 5.0 esp front and rear derailleurs with no problem. My new frame requires a top-swing FD and it doesn't look like SRAM makes one so I'm going to have to go Shimano. My gripshifters are 1:1 ratio so they're technically not Shimano-compatible but will they work at all with a Shimmy FD?
I guess I could try and find a compatible SRAM shifter or just switch out the left shifter for a Shimano trigger. Any other suggestions? |
SRAM's shifters are fully compatible with Shimano's front derailleurs.
