Tyre width on 19.5mm rims

Evening all,

I’ve ordered the following for a front and rear wheel build: Hope Pro 5 Centre-Lock Orange hubs/Kinlin XR-26RTS Black rims; internal rim width is 19.5mm. LBS suggests frame clearance for up to 700x45 (700x40 with mudguards).

Just wondering the what the widest tyre width folk would run on them would be?

many thanks, Gerald.

My personal max (a bit conservative) is 2.2X the internal width. (which means your tire width should be perfectly fine, rim wise.
My absolute minimum? I want the tire to "bulge out" at least 1 mm wider than the brake track.

FWIW, I've run 38's on rims around that width for many years.
