Can you put a front basket on a springer fork?

    Hello,
I just bought my fiancee a Trek Bonnie with an old style springer fork. She wants me to put a basket on the front of it (preferably a wicker basket). Can this be done with a springer fork?

I've attached a pic file of the bike to get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

Thanks in advance for any help you can throw my way,

The wicker baskets I see online attach only to the handle bars, so the type of forks shouldn't be an issue.

At the worst, a wicker basket would simply hit the front of the spring instead of the head tube, and I don't think that would be a problem, but its your call.

Try P clips to fix the top back of the basket higher than the handle bars, and a metal strap from the front of the spring centre bolt to the front bottom of thew basket.
