LBS screw myseat clamp?

Well I dropped my bike off at LBS today to get some minor work done, and when I get it back my seat is low, no big deal, I'll just adjut it back. So I loosen the screw and raise the seat then go to tigten my screw. Well I try to tighten it, and it goes in, and it just keeps going, doesn't tighten at all....did LBS strip the collar thing? If so, how much would one generally go for..

Collars are only a few bucks, but before you go in and accuse the shop of stripping it out be sure of your facts.

Did any of the work performed involve the seatpost collar? If there was no reason for them to touch it they might not have; is it possible you tightened it too much yourself and it finally let go?

^^^.... But the shop may have diddled with it to raise the saddle to use a post clamp on the workstand.

... and then cranked it down too much after a big bowl of carpet.

Good point!

Well I just swapped out for my old bikes seat clamp. Yes the bike shop would had to have messed with it, there wasn't enough post out to clamp on to. Its no biggy, the shop said they'd get me one for free.
