Help changing spokes on the back wheel
I find the bike terminology a bit confusing, especially when it comes to the freewheel, freehub, cog, cassette, gears................
None of the sites/books are helpfull to help me see the difference.
Anyway, I used to take the gears/cassettes/freehub........ off so the ball-bearing fall out and the click-click mechaninsm is exposed, to be able to change a spoke. Recently I found out that it's possible to take the hole "thing" off without going through the trouble of putting all those little ballies back together.
So I bought the Park FR-1 tool but the thing is impossible to turn. I followed an advice and got that tool in the vice, and another spoke broke.
What do I do?

I'm not a bike expert at all, and I may be leading you astray, but I just wanted to check that you have a chainwhip as well?

First of all, if a Park FR-1 fits your bike, you have a Freewheel, nor a Free Hub. That's a significant difference when you're posting on a board like this because otherwise you'll get a lot of advice, like needing a chainwhip, that doesn't apply to you.
I suspect that you are about to find out one of the reasons why Free Hubs are better. Assuming that you're trying to turn the wheel in the correct direction, removing a Freewheel often requires putting a lot of torque on the wheel's spokes. If you're popping spokes when you try to do that, the most cost effective solution might be to replace the entire wheel which would mean buying a new freewheel too. Sorry.
