cogs/cassettes

Do any of you save your cassettes and take them apart to sort out and keep the good cogs?
I've been doing this for a couple of years now and I think I have enough sprockets and cogs to be able to make a "free" cassette or two...with ratios that I will like. 12,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,22 is one that comes to mind.

Never done it but it sounds like a fun project, lots of options.

By the time I'm ready to retire a cassette, the smaller and middle cogs (14 through 19) are worn enough that they can't be salvaged for reuse. I could build a bunch of cassettes like 13,13,21,21,23,23,25,25,26 but they wouldn't be very useful.
