Theft Proof Skewers
A couple of years ago I saw a set of replacement quick-release skewers for sale in a shop. They were made with a removable lever (I think that it might have been essentially a torque wrench matching a torque bolt-head in the skewer itself). The idea was that they made your wheels theft-resistant, since the thief would have to have a matching wrench to open the skewer.
I saw what looked like one on a bike today. My curiosity is newly piqued.
Anyone ever tried them? Results?
Cheers,
Jamie

I have the kryptonite set on a bike. It seems like it's working pretty well so far. The skewers are very light, and you even get one for the seatpost - which is usually the easiest thing to steal!

I installed a set of these on my bike a couple of years ago. I discoverd them a few years earlier when I had a skewer stolen. I believe they were called Anti-Scam Cams. They do not lock like the Kryptonite ones, but instead have a removable star shaped wrench. I have not had one stolen, so I guess they have done the job. Since I bought my last pair, I have been unable to find them and the LBS has no idea what I am talking about. But, I am sure they are out there somewhere...
