    computer mounting

I have a Vello C-200 which worked great on an older bike. I now have a bike with a wide carbon fork and so can't get the transponder bracket to fit of course. What does one do in this case?

Plastic ties? Electrical tape? Or can I find a replacement bracket that will fit a large aero fork?

    Thanks.

I would inquire about a new bracket. But if you dont want to wait or spend the extra cash plastic ties should work just fine, they do on my specialized. Good luck.

You mean there's some way *other* than zip ties to mount a transmitter? Wow, what'll these kids think of next!

Back in the days when forks had eyelets for mounting front racks, I would simply do away with the band and screw the pickup unit directly into the eyelet.

For the time being, I took the electrical tape suggestion.

Does it work well? Because it looks terrible.

Works well. I could have taped it better, I was just checing to see if it would work (with plans to retape later).

Looks much better than it looks via photo as the fork in that section is black, same as the tape. Somehow the flash is showing the carbon fiber fork differently due to lighting than what we would normally see. I'll try and post a full length view of the bike so you see what I mean.

Bottom line, I'll work until I find a wireless computer that can handle these new forks. You'd think they would have manufactured something by now...
