Campy Syncros inserts??

I have a couple of syncros inserts laying around does anybody know where can I get info on their freewheel/cassette compatibility. most of them have marking on them ie A7. or B6 i know the 7/6 is for the amount of cogs but to what brand of free wheel?

Does any of campy syncro inserts work with shimano cassettes?
I was able to match a red colored b6 insert to a sachs 6 speed f/w( it seem to shift okay while I am on the trainer, but I will have to take in out for a road test) but i can't get any of the 7 speed inserts to work with shimano cassettes.

Are these inserts still around or am I fiddling with a lost cause?

Any inputs would be appreciated

Thanks
