Bar end shifter problems

Hi guys. Got a question. I replaced my aerobars and after reinstalling my ultegra shifters, I've noticed that it skips a gear (the rear shifter only). In other words, it does its normal clicks when shifting for the first 3 gears and then between the 3 and 4th gears the shifting is for lack of a better term "click-less" and the gears kind of just dance and then if I pull the shifter back more it resumes the normal clicking and everything is fine.

I know this was probably the most -untechnical description, but I'm the most untechnical guy. Just wondering why the rear shifter "skips" a few gears. I didnt do anything during installation except remove the shifters and re-install them....i.e. I didnt mess with the cables (except perhaps tugging at them during the re-installation process). Is there an easy fix?? Thanks guys!

Firstly, make sure the D ring is fully twisted in the indexing mode.
If that doesn't help, that thick plastic silver spacer thingy is most likely seated 90 degrees off. Try pulling lever off again and re-seat making sure you hear all the click stops.
